I love to hear from readers of any age! Please reach out any time using the form below and I'll respond as soon as possible. Or, find me on social media at the icons above.

Teachers and librarians: I'm available for school and library visits. I've met with middle school and high school English classrooms, book clubs, writing groups, and Battle of the Books events in-person and via Zoom/Skype, locally and out-of-state.

I speak about my journey from social worker to author, the creation of The Art of Holding On and Letting Go, and the influences that continue to shape my writing. I also lead customizable writing workshops for adults and teens, including "outdoor classrooms" where we can study nature and take our writing for a walk.

For high school English classes and teen/adult writing workshops, I lead a "comparing the drafts" exercise, showing how the first chapter of my novel changed from submission to publication via multiple rounds of revision/editing. I share the most valuable technique I learned from my editor that took my writing to the next level.

I also blend my social work/author experience to include an optional mental health component in my presentations, briefly discussing the rise in anxiety, the busyness and digital saturation in our lives, and how we can cope and grow resilience. Depending on the needs of the group, this discussion culminates in a writing exercise to reduce stress and anxiety.

Here's a school news article written by a student reporter about my author visit to Gull Lake Schools.

Here's an article at Book Riot by a school librarian about the value of author visits.

My presentation fees vary depending on venue and are flexible - please inquire below.
